MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!

Welcome (back?) everyone! If you’re new to Case or an old veteran like myself, I just wanted to extend a warm welcome! This year InterVarsity has a TON of great things plan. SOOO great, in fact, that I can’t even express them into words so you’ll just have to check them out in person! If you are a new student, we have some extra special events to help you get to know us during Orientation and the first week of classes. Here’s a schedule:

Saturday August 25th - Chipotle and Movie - Come eat @ your favorite Burrito restaurant (yum) and watch a movie on our projector. Meet at the Raymond/Sherman Statue@ 6 pm and we’ll take care of the rest.

Sunday August 26th - Rides to church - Email Eric Chen if you want more info about local churches or a ride ()

Monday August 27th - Info booth @ Thwing - Not sure what IV is? No, we have nothing to do with sports. Come on out to the info booth at Thwing to get alll your questions answered.

Wednesday August 29th - “Are you thirsty?” booth - Have you ever asked yourself if the things in your life really satisfy? We’re not talking about lemonade. Come on out to the main quad from 11 - 1 to interact with our interesting booth and answer the question “What are you thirsty for?”.

Thursday August 30th - OASIS - Mather Building Rm #100. Come to our first Oasis meeting of the year to have some fun times, worship, speaker, and meet some cool IV people! This is the first of our weekly Oasis meetings and will be a great opportunity to hear how you can get involved with InterVarsity during the year!

Friday August 31st - Cleveland Indians Game - Meet at 5:30 pm at Raymond/Sherman Statue to root root root for the home team.

If you haven’t seen us already around campus or got one of our cooool water bottles during move-in I recommend you come check us out at one of these events. And if you just can’t wait for one of these events and want more info, feel free to shoot me an email at . Hope to see you allll around this week!

Hey everyone! A bunch of us just got back from Chapter Focus Week 2007 and we had quite a blast. The weather went from good to bad to good right before we left…kinda reminded us of Cleveland. We had an amazing time growing together, having fun, and learning.

If you’re an incoming freshman or transfer student and are interested in hearing what Case IVCF is all about, feel free to email Laura Demitrack (lcd6), Eric Chen (exc59), or Eric Rodriguez (ejr11). Also, a bunch of Case IVers will be on campus throughout the summer, so if you’re around for any reason (i.e. visit, orientation) and would like to meet any of us in person feel free to email Laura, Eric C, or Eric R.

Case IVCF is currently getting ready for New Student Outreach for Orientation IV and Welcome Days for the start of the fall semester. Come visit our website again later in the summer to see details on what’s going on with Case IV!

Enjoy the recordings, but there are so much more! So don’t forget to check out Urbana Webcast for videos and even more audio recordings!

At Case InterVarsity, we are a bunch of folks who believe in the diversity of culture. Most of us come from very different economic, social and ethnic backgrounds. Now the tricky part is…how can we embrace each other and worship God through the lens of culture? Since we believe God made each and every culture for good reasons, we had made a commitment to pursue racial reconciliation as our main vision. Thus we try various things such as the Black Trek bible study, Race Matters, and we especially love to include different worship music and styles during our weekly Rebounds, English, Spanish, Chinese, Hymns, Contemporary, Gospel, African, and there are many more! Speaking of that, check this video out. It’s a Kenyan style song we did at last week’s Rebound. I think it’s kinda cool. So if you are interested, come check us out! Rebound happens every Thursday at 7PM at Wade Fireside.

Soooo this Monday is Labor Day… what are YOU doing? Coming to InterVarsity’s annual Barbeque Blast of course! =D

This is my personal invite to everyone. On Labor Day, from 12-4, InterVarsity will be partying it up by the Pavilion by Leutner. We’ll be grilling up a storm, playing some flag football…it’s rumored maybe some dodgeball too…or a couple of relay games…who knows? There might be even be some prizes for those who participate. So don’t just waste away in your dorm room, come on out! It’s not supposed to rain but i’ll say this anyway. We’ll be out there rain or shine =).

Hope to see you there!

Jess

Hey everyone!  I hope the summer is treating you well!  Our webmaster Ken is running around China shopping all his money away and probably eating way too much good food.  So, in the meantime, I just wanted to post a warm welcome to any incoming freshmen who might be visiting this site!  If you are visiting for the first time, thanks for stopping by and we hope that you like what you see.  Feel free to check out the site, take a look at our goofy pictures, and even sign our guestbook!

Aaaannnd, if you like what you see, we hope that you’ll come check us out in the fall! I can personally testify that IV has really helped me grow in my relationship with Christ during college and provided me with a great group of encouraging and supportive friends. All are welcome, regardless of personal spiritual background–we love to dialogue with our friends of different beliefs.

Don’t worry about finding us; we have a TON of fun stuff planned during the Case welcome days so that you can get to know us better.  Stay tuned for a calendar of events with stuff including mini golf, barbeques, Chipotle, a trip to downtown Cleveland, rides to church, and multi-cultural foods!  Also, once classes start up, we’ll kick off our regular weekly events including weekly Bible studies, large group meetings, daily prayer meetings, community service projects, and other fun stuff. To learn more about what we do during the school year, check out the rest of this site!

If you are impatient like me, feel free to email anyone in the chapter (we’re on facebook - our group name is “IV family”) with any questions you might have.  I hear that Sheila () and Mike () don’t bite and like emails from strangers.

See you in August! =)
