Large Group

At Case InterVarsity, we are a bunch of folks who believe in the diversity of culture. Most of us come from very different economic, social and ethnic backgrounds. Now the tricky part is…how can we embrace each other and worship God through the lens of culture? Since we believe God made each and every culture for good reasons, we had made a commitment to pursue racial reconciliation as our main vision. Thus we try various things such as the Black Trek bible study, Race Matters, and we especially love to include different worship music and styles during our weekly Rebounds, English, Spanish, Chinese, Hymns, Contemporary, Gospel, African, and there are many more! Speaking of that, check this video out. It’s a Kenyan style song we did at last week’s Rebound. I think it’s kinda cool. So if you are interested, come check us out! Rebound happens every Thursday at 7PM at Wade Fireside.

Come check out our first four Large Groups (Thursdays at 7 p.m. in Thwing) they should be awesome!

January 19th, 2006 – Come celebrate the beginning of a new year with InterVarsity! We will be introducing our new Servant Leadership Team (SLT) for the calendar year, having a time of worship, as well as having our staff-worker Laura come and give advice on how to ‘keep your new year’s resolutions’. We will then break into small groups to share about our breaks as well as talk about our hopes and plans for the upcoming semester. This is a great opportunity to find out what InterVarsity has planned all semester and find ways you can get involved!

January 26th, 2006 – This week, we will be worshipping and fellowshiping with our brothers and sisters in the InterFellowship community at the Spartan Room in Thwing Center at 7:30PM. Steve B. , former IV staff-worker at Baldwin-Wallace College, will speak about his experiences in China. Also, our very own Ken Zhang will be presenting InterVarsity Xining Global Project ‘06.

February 2nd, 2006 – God has blessed each of us uniquely with gifts and talents. Come on out to hear our favorite alumni, Joe Fell, discuss why God gave us those gifts and talents and advice on how to use them for His glory (especially for busy Case students!). As usual there will be a time of worship and fellowship. I also heard rumors of a Diner run afterwards!

February 9th, 2006 – FERP. Family, Evangelism, Racial Reconciliation, Prayer. The acronym may sound strange, but God has given InterVarsity a vision for FERP. As with anything, we should constantly be making sure that our vision is in line w/ God’s. What better place to look then His word? Well, this week at Large Group, Mark Miller, pastor of NewSong Church is going to be looking into God’s word to tell us where the bible talks about the ‘R’ of FERP – Racial Reconciliation.
